Clothing Flocking
Flocking Clothing
Flocking clothing is a popular application within the fashion and textile industry. These microscopically small fibers are electrostatically applied to a substrate, creating a soft, velvety texture. In the world of clothing, flocking offers numerous possibilities: from decorative details to functional reinforcements. Thanks to their versatility and luxurious appearance, flock fibers are increasingly used by designers, textile printers, and sustainable fashion makers.
What exactly are flock fibers?
Flock fibers are short, cut fibers made of, for example, polyamide, rayon, or polyester. During the flocking process, these fibers are applied upright onto the fabric, creating a uniform and soft texture. This technique not only provides an elegant look but also offers extra durability.
Why use flock fibers on clothing?
1. Luxurious appearance
Flock fibers give garments a high-quality texture comparable to velvet. Brands often use this technique for logos, patterns, or accents on sweaters, jackets, and sportswear.
2. Extra durability
Because the fibers adhere firmly to the substrate, flock details are surprisingly durable. This makes flocking ideal for frequently worn clothing, such as sportswear or workwear.
3. Many creative possibilities
Flock fibers are available in countless colors, lengths, and materials. This allows designers to play with contrast, relief, and color intensity to create unique designs.

More about creative applications of flocking: How does the flocking process work for clothing?
Flocks can be applied to clothing in 2 ways;
The most common way to apply flocks to clothing is by using flock foils. The desired print image can be plotted from this foil using a plotter. The flock foil is then applied to the clothing using a heat press. In the video below, you can see how we print flock foils on clothing.
2. No heat press or plotter? No problem! You can apply textile glue to the clothing and then apply flock fibers to it. This can be done by using our textile glue and flock applicator. In addition, flock machines are available that ensure the flocks are electrically charged so that they remain beautifully upright on the textile.
