Flock your dashboard

What is dashboard flocking?

Dashboard flocking involves applying flocking fibers to a car's dashboard. Flocking fibers are fine, 1mm long nylon fibers available in various colors at DutchFlock. Applying these fibers gives your dashboard a suede or velvet-like look and feel.

Dashboard flocking is widely used in motorsports and the car tuning scene. Flocking a dashboard is not only a visual improvement, but it also prevents sunlight from reflecting off the dashboard. This is particularly useful when speeding around a track or off-road!

Benefits of dashboard flocking

As described above, dashboard flocking reduces reflection in the windshield, giving you better visibility of the road. But it also improves the readability of gauges and displays. Flocking is durable because it provides a wear-resistant finish for a dashboard. Flocking can also be used to make a damaged dashboard look new again.

Applying flocking fibers also provides sound and vibration dampening due to the properties of the fibers. That's why flocking in the automotive industry is not only used for dashboards but also for other car parts.

Flocking car parts

Flocking can be applied to almost any surface. For a uniform look, you can therefore flock other car parts in addition to your dashboard. Consider, for example, the center console of your car; the velvety feel of the flocking fibers feels soft, making flocking ideal for this purpose.

Other car parts that can be flocked include door panels and the glove compartment, but also items like a sunglass holder can be given a luxurious look through flocking. By using the same color flocking fibers, you create a consistent look.
