Clothing Flocking
Flock fibers are rapidly gaining popularity in the fashion and textile industries. These microscopic fibers are electrostatically applied to a substrate, creating a soft, velvety texture. In the clothing industry, flocking offers countless possibilities: from decorative details to functional reinforcements. Thanks to their versatility and luxurious appearance, flock fibers are increasingly being used by designers, textile printers, and sustainable fashion makers.
What exactly are flock fibers?
Flock fibers are short, cut fibers of materials such as polyamide, rayon, or polyester. During the flocking process, these fibers are placed upright on the fabric, creating a smooth and soft texture. This technique not only creates an elegant look but also provides extra durability.
Why use flock fibers in clothing?
1. Luxurious appearance
Flock fibers give garments a high-quality texture similar to velvet. Brands often use this technique for logos, patterns, or accents on sweaters, jackets, and sportswear.
2. Extra durability
Because the fibers adhere firmly to the substrate, flocking details are surprisingly durable. This makes flocking ideal for clothing that is worn intensively, such as sportswear or workwear.
3. Lots of creative possibilities
Flock fibers are available in countless colors, lengths, and materials. This allows designers to play with contrast, texture, and color intensity to create unique designs.

More about creative applications of flocking: How does the flocking process work in clothing?
Flocks can be applied to clothing in 2 ways;
- The most common way to apply flocking to clothing is through flock foil. Using a plotter, the correct print image can be plotted from this foil. The flock foil is then applied to the clothing using a printing press.
2. No printing press or plotter? No problem! You can apply textile adhesive to the clothing and then apply flock fibers. This can be done using our textile adhesive and flock applicator. We also offer flocking machines that electrically charge the flock, keeping it upright on the fabric.
